Happy Anniversary to Us!

"Change In All Things Is Sweet" - Aristotle

We met in May of 2020 and quickly fell in love. When you’re 36 and 43, you know it when you find a good thing. It turns out, we weren’t just a good thing…we became best friends, life partners, and soul mates. They say that once you decide, things move quickly. That couldn’t be truer for us. The last three years have brought us more change and growth than ever.

To start, we both changed jobs during our first year of dating. And because the pandemic was in full swing, Lynea needed a hobby, so she studied for and got her real estate and mortgage loan officer licenses. Our puppy, Dolly, joined our world the first weekend of February 2021, the same week Bill moved out of his beloved Land Park neighborhood to move in with Lynea in Loomis.

That spring, we learned about our fertility problems, which lead us to accept the truth that kids would not be in our future (it’s still so hard as I am writing this). During all this time, everything in the “normal” world was either shut down or oddly different and uninviting, we decided to make the most of it by putting energy towards something active and healthy. We bought a boat and truck and joined a private water ski lake to pass our time. We started Lakeshore Home Loan together in January 2022. And in June of 2022, we got married. This brings me to today.

One year ago, we got married at the Auburn courthouse and then went to Incline Village for wedding photos and a relaxing 3 days. Upon our return home to Loomis, we decided we needed a new and fresh start, a home we could create together. In our first six months of marriage, we sold a house, bought a house, and embarked on house project like many new homeowners do.

We are proud of all this change because it has lead us to where we are today. We are also saying cheers to a moment in time where things seem calm and still. Happy 1st Anniversary to us!
